    I found a 2010 Soul 1.6L  0-60 sec @ 8.6 and the 1/4 mile @ 16.6. That is with the 122 HP. I expect my 2012 base Soul with the new 1.6L (138hp) to be a smidgen quicker. The heavier 2010 2.0L had a 0-60 of 8.2 and 1/4 mi of 16.2, maybe my vehicle will fill in the acceleration slot between those 2010 models.  BTW I am getting 29 MPG of City driving....not bad at all!

    This car is a bargain.....I got the base 2012 model for $13,700 plus tax, tag and dealer fee in Florida....THERE IS NO COMPETITION AT THIS PRICE POINT (PERIOD!). This car comes standard with pw & pl for which the Rio you have to pay $1,000 extra (granted you also get keyless in the Rio plus it IS better looking outside, a la VW). It also has telescopic/tilt, Sat radio (free w 3 mos subscription), A/C, electric PS, the 1.6L is Direct Injection and is 4 HP short of last year's 2.0L, the manual is 6 speed not a 5.... The one main thing missing is an armrest ($130 ebay) and I will add an alarm to get the keyless entry. This car has a top rating from IIHS, it is airy and spacious with its tall ceiling and with that tall Cargo opening inside you can put anything in there......Doesn't fit inside? Then you have the option of using racks on the very flat and very long roof. NO ONE ELSE OFFERS THIS COMBINATION AT THIS PRICE POINT!! (PERIOD, AGAIN).

    If the interior wasn't absolutely hideous, cheap looking, and if it had all-wheel drive, this would be a fantastic car.

    So the base price goes up $655 and the top spec (Sport no longer made) is >$1800. Quite an increase even with more powerful engine, 6 speed (rather than 4 speed) transmission and UVO.

    It's simple

    Soul! = Soul Exclaim
    Soul+ = Soul Plus
    Soul = Soul

    BTW, I owned a Soul! for 10 months.  Couldn't even keep it for a year before I wanted to sell it.  Not a good car at all.

    For $20,350 that Soul! better have the 164 hp 2 liter engine.

    How do you tell your dealer you want the Soul!, not the Soul?

    Anyway, I hope the top level cars are coming with more sound insulation because this thing is loud.  Make that loud!
