IRVINE, California — Just a few months after its introduction in North America, the Kia Soul is being joined by a new special edition — the 2010 Denim Soul. It is the first of several limited editions of the compact hatchback that Kia plans to launch in the coming year.
Underscoring the name, the Denim Soul features a denim exterior paint scheme, accented with white mirrors and white 18-inch alloy wheels, plus a white racing stripe and rear wing.
Based on the Soul+ model, the Denim Soul comes equipped with the Audio Upgrade package, as well as iPod connector cable, steering-wheel controls, carpeted floor mats, moonroof and foglamps.
The Denim Soul is priced starting at $17,995 with a five-speed manual gearbox and $18,945 with automatic. Prices include a $695 shipping charge.
Inside Line says: Like the Scion xB, the Kia Soul seems ripe for more personalization. — Anita Lienert, Correspondent
