A 1.6-liter gasoline and a 1.6-liter diesel engine with a variable geometry turbocharger, or VGT, will be based on the cee'd power plant. There will also be a 2.0-liter gasoline engine in some markets, Kia said.
The front-wheel-drive hatchback will go into production in Korea in November and will go on sale in Europe in February. The U.S. will get the all-new model starting next April.
