IRVINE, California — Visitors to the 2008 Los Angeles Auto Show will be able to scan bar codes and text keywords on their mobile phones to learn more about the 2010 Kia Soul.

Kia Soul Mobile is a microsite of KiaSoul.com designed specifically for cell phone Web browsers. Using their mobile phones, auto show visitors can scan bar codes or text keywords that will direct them to Kia Soul Mobile to learn more information about the funky new Soul. The codes can be found on postcards at the Kia booth at the L.A. auto show.

The mobile site will also feature Soul-inspired artwork from 10 different artists that can be downloaded and sent to friends.

Inside Line says: As automakers tap into technology, auto shows will increasingly spill out of the convention centers and onto the Internet. — Eric Tingwall, Correspondent
