2006 Kia Sedona Picture

I own a KIA Sedona 2006 EX, I purchased it in 2006 with 9 hundred miles on the clock.  Recently The steering wheel started to lock and steer me in the wrong direction.  I took it to Kia for assessment, they told me the Rack and Pinion was gone and that it was not covered by manufacture warranty as I bought it second hand and was not covered for the 1000 mile warranty.  I had a second opinion and was told it was definitely not the rack and pinion. anyway whatever was wrong with it appeared to have been fixed by another dealer.  However the car did the same thing again maybe 4 week after having it fixed, it is very scary as the steering wheel locks and take the car into whatever direction it chooses.  I have not gone back to Kia as yet because of the weather, in the mean time I was wondering if anyone has experienced this problem and if so are you aware of what is causing this to happen? do you think  it's a manufacturer's fault?
