- The 2011 Kia Optima will be the centerpiece of the Korean automaker's 2011 Super Bowl commercial.
- The Optima ad is crowded with characters, including space aliens, a cop and an ancient tribe.
- Registration opens today for Kia's "One Epic Contest" which gives participants the chance to win one of five Optimas.
IRVINE, California — The 2011 Kia Optima is the focus of the Korean automaker's 2011 Super Bowl ad, along with aliens, a cop, Poseidon — and the giveaway of five vehicles.
As of Tuesday morning, Kia Motors America told Inside Line that the TV ad was not yet available.
In a statement, the Korean automaker said that its interactive Super Bowl advertising push includes TV, digital, print and social media. It also kicked off registration today for Kia's "One Epic Contest," which gives participants the chance to win one of five Optimas. Participants must discover clues hidden within "various media channels" to answer four questions. A fifth question will be revealed during the Super Bowl commercial, which is slated for the first quarter of the game.
Kia also announced that starting on February 4, consumers can download a $25 Visa pre-paid card test-drive voucher at Kia's Web site, which is redeemable after you complete a 2011 Optima test-drive.
Automakers promise to have a high-profile presence at the 2011 Super Bowl. General Motors told Inside Line on Tuesday that it will roll out six Chevrolet ads during and after the game. Hyundai and Audi have also said they will have Super Bowl ads.

So you wouldn't take a car the the editors of Edmuds.com picked as a most wanted?

You can't see Kia as what they where 10 years ago. The factories, mangament, and designers have changed and as of right now the 2011 Kia Optima is the best car for sale. I sell cars but not Kia and even I have to admit to that fact.
