The two-plus-two-seater concept was designed by Gregory Guillaume and his team in Frankfurt. Its main purpose is to preview Kia's next-generation family face — and a most unusual face it is, dominated by distinctive headlamps and what Kia calls a "powerful" fascia. Its engine is a 197-horsepower 2.7-liter V6 mated to a six-speed automatic transmission.
Although its styling is Euro-friendly, Kia should really employ a naming expert. Kee is said to be a take on both key and chi, Korean and Chinese for "the cultural concept for life force or spiritual energy."
As for the new headquarters, it represents an investment of $102.3 million. The 10-story building includes sales, after-sales and marketing operations, including four floors devoted to the Styling Center alone. It appears fast-expanding Kia wants to ensure it "gets" what European customers want.
What this means to you: Kia is taking Europe seriously and hoping Europeans respond in kind.
