SHANGHAI, China — Jianghuai Automobile (JAC) has released sketches of a new minicar that is expected be unveiled next month at the 2009 Shanghai Auto Show. Known simply as A00 and slated for production late this year, the tiny hatchback resembles the Toyota Aygo and will compete in China with such rivals as the Geely Panda and the BYD F0.

Smaller than the recently launched JAC Tongyue RS 1.3 hatchback, the A00 will be powered by a 1.0-liter engine and will be priced from less than $7,000, according to reports in the Chinese press.
