ADRIAN, Michigan — The Jeep Wrangler Xplore Adventure Series by Jeep tuner Venchurs is set for a debut at Moab during Easter Jeep Week. The Jeep tuner is throwing in an $80 annual pass to all National Parks as part of the deal.
But buyers had better hope that the U.S. government averts a possible shutdown that threatens to close operations in national parks across the country. Congressional negotiators were struggling to reach a spending agreement by Friday that would halt a shutdown of most government functions, including in places such as Yellowstone National Park. The last such shutdown took place 15 years ago and lasted 21 days.
In the meantime, the Jeep Wrangler Xplore Adventure Series promises to spice up the popular outdoors vehicle.
A Stage 1 Jeep Wrangler Xplore gets a Katzkin leather interior priced at $2,200. A Stage 2 Jeep Wrangler Xplore features Xplore/Method Racing aluminum wheels in black or machined-finish, Bilstein 5100 Series shocks, Mopar cat-back exhaust, Xplore aluminum badges and floor mats. It is priced at $8,995. A Stage 3 Jeep Wrangler Xplore gets such goodies as BF Goodrich off-road tires, ARB roof racks, rock rails, roof-top tents, bumpers, tire carriers, Warn winches and IPF lighting. Venchurs says this mix-and-match accessories group can range from $1,409 for a front bumper and light package to a complete package at "$20,000+."
Build-to-order Stage 4 vehicles include "a wide variety of special features and accessories" and include "wraps, special paint, electronics and performance enhancements," said Venchurs.
The first Xplore Wrangler will be auctioned this fall, with profits donated to the National Park Foundation, the official charity of America's national parks. Venchurs says it will make a donation to the National Park Foundation for every Xplore Jeep sold.
The Xplore Wranglers are available through select Jeep dealerships in the U.S.

Since a good portion of jeep owners customize their jeeps, one has to wonder if the US will go to the European style of dealership one day where they have little inventory and most sales are special ordered for each customer.. It'd be nice to be able to buy one from Chrysler that is tuned to your specs.. Suspension, options, bumpers, racks... Cover it under warranty and it'd be tough to beat.
