LAS VEGAS — Chrysler hasn't yet officially named the Jeep Wrangler as a stand-alone brand, as it has done with Dodge Ram. Nevertheless, the iconic utility vehicle will be the focal point of the Jeep display at the 2009 SEMA Show.

In addition to the Overland and Lower Forty concept vehicles revealed earlier this month, Jeep is also preparing Extreme Off-Road and Family-Friendly Off-Road editions of the Wrangler.

The Extreme Off-Road model is based on a 2010 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon with 3.8-liter V6, 35-inch tires and nearly $6,500 in Mopar accessories, including a 2-inch lift kit, cold-air intake kit, heavy-duty front bumper, Warn winch, off-road rear bumper, black taillight guards, rock rails, front skid plate, diff cover skid plates, off-road lighting package, black door-entry guards, black fuel door, custom-fit front and rear-seat covers, heavy-duty grab handles, slush mats and Kicker audio system.

The Family-Friendly Off-Road model is built on a 2010 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Unlimited four-door with 3.8-liter V6, 33-inch tires and more than $7,500 worth of Mopar accessories, including a 2-inch lift kit, AEV front bumper/skid plate, Warn winch, grille guard, off-road rear bumper, diff cover skid plates, black door-entry guards, two-tone Katzkin leather upholstery on heated seats, heavy-duty grab handles, slush mats and Kicker audio system.

Inside Line says: We're assuming the latter model is aimed at frontier families. — Paul Lienert, Correspondent
