AUBURN HILLS, Michigan — The 2012 Jeep Wrangler Call of Duty: MW3 Special Edition will hit showrooms in December with a starting price of $37,295 for the two-door model. The special edition Jeep coincides with the release of the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 video game.
The four-door Jeep Wrangler Unlimited version starts at $40,870.
Prices include an $800 destination charge.
The special models are spun off the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon and get Rubicon wheels in semi-gloss black. The exterior gets either black or Bright Silver paint, accented with Call of Duty: MW3 Special Edition graphics on the front fenders and spare tire cover.
Other goodies include a special "power-dome" hood and Mopar accessories, including a winch-ready front bumper, rock rails, taillamp guards and a fuel-filler door. Options include a Warn winch, 2-inch lift kit and five-spoke wheels.
The cabin gets Call of Duty logos and a dashboard serialized plaque.
The extensive tie-in with the video game includes a social media contest to win the first special-edition Wrangler off the line in the "Jeep Ops Sweepstakes." The vehicle is priced at $45,075.
Contest information is available on the Jeep Facebook page. The winner will be selected on January 9 in a random drawing.
Jeep's multimedia assault to promote the special model and the game include electroluminescent billboards in Los Angeles, New York and Chicago and a new Wrangler slogan: "The toughest vehicle in the world. Any world."

Better than the raised (usually Rancho shocks), fixed up trucks that are barely road worthy and blind you at night if your car is less than 50 feet off the ground, aka 'dem' rice-truckers'. At least this thing looks like it can handle a real trail.

$45K for a Wrangler? Ugh. People pay it, too.
