BOTTROP, Germany — Startech, the Brabus affiliate that modifies Chrysler products, is offering custom pieces for the Grand Cherokee Overland as well as an upgraded turbodiesel for European customers.
The 3.0-liter common-rail six-cylinder unit gets a bump with Startech's SD6 tuning kit, from 214 to 250 horsepower and from 376 to 427 pound-feet of torque.
Startech also has put some pizzazz into the aging Grand Cherokee, with such aero add-ons as a front spoiler with integral LED daytime running lights, side sills with integral LED lights (they come on when the door handle is pulled or the keyless fob is pressed) and a rear apron with cutouts for the Startech stainless-steel sport exhaust and chrome tailpipes.
A suspension kit firms up the ride and lowers height by 1.2 inches. Customers can order Pirelli Scorpion tires — 265/35R22 in front, 295/30R22 in the rear — mounted on silver polished Startech Monostar IV wheels.
Startech's customized interiors for the Grand Cherokee include such amenities as a brushed aluminum speedometer bezel, aluminum pedals and polished stainless-steel scuff plates with an illuminated Startech logo.
