HOUSTON — Jeep is offering consumers a chance to name a new "stealth" edition of the Grand Cherokee that's due out in late spring. The winner of the online contest has a chance to win a new 2012 Grand Cherokee.
Based on the Laredo X package, the special-edition Grand Cherokee concept features platinum-chrome front-end trim with black-gloss 20-inch wheels, grille surround, headlamp bezels and lift gate light bar.
The concept is being displayed this week at the Houston auto show in Brilliant Black and at the Washington auto show in Deep Cherry Red.
Chrysler said the concept has "production-intent" paint, trim and features, including heated leather seats, leather-wrapped steering wheel and shifter, a nine-speaker 506-watt audio system with subwoofer, iPod/MP3 connectivity, Parkview rear back-up camera, ParkSense rear park assist system, Keyless Enter-N-Go and Uconnect hands-free communications system.
Participants can enter the Jeep Name My Ride contest online or through the mobile site. Consumers will vote on three finalists, and Chrysler will finalize the choice of name in May.

How about "Another Gimmick from Chrysler"?

Could they get them to pass emissions here without significant loss of hp or mpg? I suppose it doesn't matter because they're not bringing them here. BMW has kept their best from us in the past...bastards!

How about "Texas Tea Porker", in honor of its very large appetite.

If they're really going with "stealth", why is there chrome around the windows? Don't think they put chrome around the cockpit of an SR-71.
Just sayin'.

Offer solid axles, sway bar disconnect and a gutted interior and call it the Grand Cherokee Rubicon. Wrangler sales were up 40% overnight. Imagine if you offered a Grand version of it.
