GENEVA — Jaguar is reviving its most exclusive — and most potent — performance car, the XKR-S, at the 2011 Geneva Auto Show. The car will arrive this fall at U.S. dealers as a 2012 model, Jaguar confirmed Wednesday to Inside Line.
The British automaker, owned by India's Tata Motors, says the latest edition of the XKR-S not only is "the fastest production Jaguar ever, but it is also the most agile, nimble and driver-focused."
Jaguar won't release full specifications until after the car is publicly unveiled next week. But it said the supercharged 5.0-liter V8 has been tuned to deliver 550 horsepower and 502 pound-feet of torque. The latest XKR-S can accelerate from zero to 60 in 4.2 seconds, with a top speed of 186 mph.
In the U.S., the 2011 Jaguar XKR is powered by a more sedate version of the same engine, rated at 510 hp and 461 lb-ft.
Inside Line says: Jaguar said the new XKR-S also gets a revised suspension and aerodynamic modifications. — Paul Lienert, Correspondent

Please delete the spoiler.
A friend of mine bought an 09 XKR. Drop dead gorgeous car that will snap your head back, but it's got to be the biggest POS I've even sat in aside from a Ford Tempo.

Getting tired of another car company offering another so called "high performance" alphabet brand. Type S, R, M, A. It's like these marketing types just discovered Sesame Street!
For me Jags have lost their prestige long ago when Ford took over. Now it's even worst with Tata. Very soon the Chinese will own them. My uncles had 3 Jags and their 0 to 60mph time was about 5 weeks when you include the time spent at the shop to get them started!

Looks good. Not feeling the wing though. This car reminds me of a British SL or Camaro. Yeah, I said it.
