The XKR has a powerful supercharged 420-horsepower 4.2-liter V8 that sprints to 60 mph in a respectable 4.9 seconds (5.0 for the convertible). The advanced lightweight aluminum body combines with the six-speed Jaguar Sequential Shift Transmission for "driver-focused dynamic performance." Jaguar collaborated with Alcon, the performance brake specialist, to create the largest brake discs ever fitted to a production Jag, which should provide more than ample stopping power.
Jaguar paid much attention to the exterior with an exclusive Shadow Grey metallic paint, huge 20-inch Selena shadow-finished alloy wheels, milled aluminum power vents and, for those interested in the convertible, a choice between a dark gray or black hood.
A lavish blend of luxury and sporting can be found inside with options like rich oak veneer or engine aluminum finishes, unique tread plates covered by leather-edged carpet mats and a 525-watt premium Bowers & Wilkins surround sound system. Standard equipment includes front park assist, power folding mirrors and an iPod connection.
What this means to you: Subtle changes make the new XKR even sexier. — Mike Lysaght, Correspondent
