SHANGHAI, China — Unlike several of its fellow European marques, Jaguar elected not to pull the wraps off its redesigned XJ sedan at the 2009 Shanghai Auto Show. Managing Director Mike O'Driscoll did, however, tease journalists with a sneak peek at the 2010 Jaguar XJ, which he said will be officially unveiled on July 9 in London. The new car should begin trickling into European dealers by year's end, with the first customer deliveries to commence in early 2010.
The next XJ, O'Driscoll said, will be offered in standard and long-wheelbase variants, with a variety of engines, ranging from a 270-horsepower twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 diesel to a 510-hp supercharged 5.0-liter V8.
Features include an aluminum body and an optional panoramic glass roof.
