As expected, the new XJ is a far more distinctive executive sedan than the current model. From the front, it looks a bit like the midsize Jaguar XF. But from the rear it's far more dramatic, thanks to an exaggerated fastback roof line.
The 2010 XJ will offer a variety of engines, ranging from a frugal V6 diesel to a 503-horsepower version of the supercharged 5.0-liter V8 that we've already sampled in the 2010 XFR.
Inside Line says: It doesn't look much like XJs of the past, but this might finally be the distinctive sheet metal Jaguar needs to regain a foothold in the luxury sedan segment. — Erin Riches, Senior Editor
