    Just the Facts:
    • West Midlands police department receives seven Jaguar XF police cars.
    • The car is based on the XF Diesel S Jaguar.
    • Its twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter engine produces 273 horsepower and has a 0-60-mph time of 5.9 seconds.

GAYDON, England — A lucky police force in the West Midlands of the U.K. is getting an impressive addition to their fleet: seven police-adapted Jaguar XF patrol cars.

The police-spec Jaguar XF was first announced by Jaguar last May. The car is based on the XF Diesel S Jaguar, with a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter engine that makes 273 horsepower and has a 0-60-mph time of 5.9 seconds. Plus, of course, there's a light bar on the roof and a distinctive electronic setup.

The choice to buy seven Jaguar XFs as patrol vehicles for the Central Motorway Police Group in this West Midlands region of England should turn heads and keep speeders alert. The Jags join a fleet that the police group describes as including vehicles such as Range Rovers, Toyota Land Cruisers, Volvo T5s, Vauxhall Omegas and a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter command center vehicle.

There are plenty of totally unmarked police cars here too! They come in all shapes and sizes from Honda Civics to 3 series BMWs.

Does anyone know why diesel isn't commonly used in the US?? or is it? If it isn't then why the hell not when you could be driving machines like this?!!

i wish that they had color schemes like that in the states. you would be able to spot a cop from miles away. there, they try to make cruisers more visible, and here they just get more and more disguised.

Diesel torque for the law-enforcing win.

I wonder if it has the same stupid gearshift as the regular XF?

I love seeing weird crap like this. Makes me think not all imagination is lost in this gray world.

That should come over here. I would buy the non-spec version so quickly! (Of course, I would buy it in my dreams- seeing how I don't actually have enough money to afford one.)
