MAHWAH, New Jersey — The 2010 Jaguar XF Supercharged made its debut on Monday, boasting 170 more horsepower than the base XF model, along with a $68,000 price tag. The XF Supercharged hits showrooms in October and commands a $16,000 premium over the base 300-hp XF.

The $68,000 price tag includes an $850 destination charge. The base 2010 Jaguar XF with a 4.2-liter V8 starts at $52,000, including shipping. The top-of-the-line 510-hp supercharged 2010 Jaguar XFR starts at $80,000, including shipping.

The XF Supercharged is equipped with a 5.0-liter V8 that delivers 470 hp and 424 pound-feet of torque. It sprints from zero to 60 mph in 4.9 seconds. Jaguar said the horsepower is a 12 percent increase over the 4.2-liter 2009 supercharged XF.

Exterior cues on the 2010 Jaguar XF Supercharged include 20-inch alloy wheels, "Supercharged" badging on the rear trunk lid, quad polished exhaust tailpipes and silver-gray painted brake calipers.

The cabin gets contrast-color twin needle stitching on the instrument panel and door top rolls, Jaguar Suedecloth Premium headlining, Rich Oak veneer, a 440-watt Bowers & Wilkins surround sound system, HD radio and a heated steering wheel.

Inside Line says: Another intriguing choice in the XF lineup, if money is no object. — Anita Lienert, Correspondent
