Jaguar F-type Concept
What's special about it?
Jaguar's stunning F-type Concept, which indicates the direction the company is taking as it prepares to re-enter the world of purpose-built sports cars, makes you forget about the BMW Z8. This is pure sex on wheels. Embodying Jaguar's renewed focus on performance and styling, the F-type Concept points the way to the company's goal of becoming the most exciting and emotional engineering brand in the world. The F-type concept is clearly a descendant of the E-type and XK roadsters of the 1950s, and was inspired by XK 180 show car from 1998. The most compact Jaguar sports car in 40 years, F-type Concept's "purpose is to provoke" explained Jonathan Browning, Jaguar's managing director. "The world is our focus group." Engineers and designers built the F-type to go from concept to production model with minimal modification. When it hits showrooms, the F-type roadster is predicted to be powered by a 240-horsepower AJ-V6 engine borrowed from the S-type sedan. A standard manual or available automatic transmission will drive the rear wheels, and all-wheel drive is being considered as an option. Inside, the F-type concept adheres to the currently trendy "minimalist" approach, with basic gauges and switchgear rendered in solid aluminum.
Why should I care?
Jaguar wants your feedback, and if the response is positive, the F-type Concept will become reality. This is one to lust for and dream about. Yummy.
