    What is it?
    Isuzu VX-4

    What's special about it?
The VX-4 is another concept vehicle based on the VehiCROSS. At the 1999 Tokyo Motor Show, Isuzu displayed the roofless VX-02. For NAIAS, Isuzu showed the VX-4. The VX-4 name refers to the four-door configuration. The VX-4 is powered by a 3.5-liter V6 producing 215 horsepower. Like the 2000 Rodeo, the VX-4 has Isuzu's Intelligent Suspension Control. Inside, there's a mobile entertainment system with a DVD player, an overhead 6.5-inch LCD monitor for rear passengers, a 550-watt premium audio system, and an AM/FM/XM satellite radio. A 6.5-inch in-dash touch-screen monitor allows access to the GPS navigation system, a rear-view video camera and the climate controls. Other highlights include a rear-mounted sonar system, Recaro seats, a MOMO steering wheel, 18-inch wheels, and special aluminum monotube shock absorbers featuring external heat expansion chambers.

    Why should I care?
There could be a four-door VehiCROSS in the near future. The rear-view video camera and sonar system are nice ideas, as they solve the VehiCROSS' visibility problem. We can't help but notice how tiny the rear doors are, however. What's the point of having four doors if only two of them are useable?
