NEW YORK — The redesigned 2011 Infiniti QX56 goes on sale in early summer, with prices carried over from the outgoing 2010 range. The 2011 QX56 2WD will retail for $56,700 and the QX56 4WD for $59,800. Prices do not include an $865 shipping charge.
Unveiled at the 2010 New York Auto Show, the QX56 gets a new 400-horsepower direct-injection version of Nissan's massive 5.6-liter V8, with a new seven-speed automatic transmission with manual-shift capability replacing the previous five-speed gearbox.

What a bunch of whiners above! FOR ALL YOU TREE HUGGING, PRIUS DRIVERS, SOME PEOPLE NEED A LARGE SUV TO HAUL TRAILERS, BOATS, CHILDREN AND ALL THEIR SPORTS EQUIPMENT AND FRIENDS, WAGONS, CAMPING GEAR AND ALL THE OTHER STUFF THAT CHILDREN NEED HAULED AROUND AS THEY GROW UP. GET OVER IT!!! The LARGE SUV IS HERE TO STAY, NO MATTER HOW YOU KEEP TRYING TO CONTROL OTHER PEOPLE'S LIVES WITH YOUR IGNORANT, PROGRESSIVE, PHONEY ZERO CARBON FOOTPRINT LIFESTYLE. If you want to live like a mountain man; fine, do it. But, don't try to force your stupidity on us RESPONSIBLE PEOPLE WHO CARE ABOUT OUR CHILDREN AND FAMILIES NEEDS MORE THAN A PHONEY CARBON FOOTPRINT. Besides, this new model has improved gas mileage in spite of also having more horsepower and torque. KUDOS TO INFINITI ENGINEERS FOR PULLING OFF THAT DESIGN UPGRADE. Now, as far as the new QX56 looks, as a current owner of a 2004 QX56, who absolutely LOVES IT, despite its minor problems that Infiniti has always repaired under my extended warranty, I think it looks like a large FX50, that's all. It looks MODERN, yet VERY COOL and SOPHISTICATED! I can't wait to test drive one because I'm due for a new one this year. My biggest concern is that it has gotten smaller on the inside. I know, from reviewing its specifications versus the 2010 QX56, that it is longer and wider, but shorter. The inside specifications are only a little smaller because it is shorter; but, it does have 400 pounds less Towing Capacity in spite of having a more powerful engine. This is concerning to me because I do have to tow a 7,000 pounds boat; but, it's not a deal breaker since it should still have enough Towing Capacity for my needs. GOOD JOB INFINITI! Let me know when you release the LARGER, LONGER XL VERSION.

Can infinity not make such a goddamned eyesore of an suv? Gezz I know it's not supposed to win any beauty pagents but were approaching 'Hummer H3' on the Juke/Aztek scale of hideousness here...

Yay! The price line was held on an enormous, obnoxious, luxury gas guzzling SUV, that's just what the country needs right now!
Some day these behemoths will be nothing more than fossilized memories in America, but that day unfortunately is not today.

I really like it and it is a deal compared to other SUVs in this class...hell the Lexus LX starts around 20,000 dollars more.

The fender scoops have 3 portholes...if the vehicle is 8 cylinders, it should have 4 on each side to at least make it somewhat convincable. The Lexus LX 470 isnt that much better looking either. You look at the site lights all around the vehicle and there's no synergy at all, makes the vehicle look horrible.

This will make a great used car/CPO buy. Ugly, but competent vehicles make good vehicles with piss-poor resale value.

The fender vents look fake...tacky. The interior looks very smooth; aside from the leather on the door...never understood that...it makes a car look aged. I agree ....very weird shape
