    Just the Facts:
    • 2012 Infiniti M35h will be on display next week at the Paris auto show.
    • M35h combines a 302-horsepower 3.5-liter V6 gasoline engine with a 50kW electric motor.
    • It goes on sale next spring in the U.S. and Europe.

PARIS — Infiniti will give European customers their first glimpse of the brand's-new M35h hybrid sedan next week at the 2010 Paris Auto Show. The M35h, which was unveiled in August at the 2010 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, goes on sale next spring in the U.S. and Europe.

The M35h combines a 302-horsepower 3.5-liter V6 gasoline engine with a 50kW electric motor. The hybrid can accelerate from zero to 60 in less than 5.9 seconds, making it the fastest model in Infiniti's European range. Top speed is electronically governed to 155 mph. Fuel economy on the combined European cycle is estimated at 32 mpg.

The M35h should have prodigious torque. The V6 engine makes 258 pound-feet, while the electric motor delivers 199 lb-ft. The vehicle features a lithium-ion battery pack and a seven-speed automatic transmission with wet and dry clutches, and can cruise on battery power alone for up to 50 miles.

For the European market, the M35h will come in standard and luxury GT editions, with a lavishly equipped GT Premium package bundling Intelligent Cruise Control, lane departure warning and prevention, a 16-speaker Bose Premium surround-sound system, Active Noise Control and Forest Air, Nissan's climate control system designed to promote alertness and relieve stress.

Inside Line says: Expect the M35h to be priced between the M37 and the M56 — somewhere in the vicinity of $55,000. — Paul Lienert, Correspondent

0-60 in 5.9 sec still trails the GS450h's posted 5.2 sec.

Isn't the the 450h hybrid system based off of a v8

@lexuslvr: when is the last time you've seen a GS450h? I live in southern California, and I see more 335d's, E-class diesels, and even Lexus' own RX hybrid than GS hybrids. The current GS is about a generation and a half behind the class leaders right now, and about 3 generations behind in its styling.

Lexus may have pioneered the luxury hybrid concept, but everybody else is catching up, and fast.

Having experienced Nissan's Lane Warning and Prevention gadgetry on my EX35 I am underwhelmed by them. What really won me over though is the Around View Monitor, I use it every day and love it. Another technology I also grew to love was the heads up display on my C6 Corvette. So not having AVM and/or a HUD available for the M makes it seems kind of lower tech.  The other bummer about the Infiniti M/G family is the backseat doesn't fold down. A folding down rear seat is an extremely useful feature over the long haul.

    Guys,
I think they mean it can cruise up to 50 MPH...not miles. If it was miles, nissan/infiniti would be screaming this from the top of a mountain.

Fastest car in Infinitis Europe line up? Does Europe not get the G37? FX50?

I just realized this thing has the same EV range as the Chevrolet Volt, and gas mileage isnt much worse on the engine. Pretty impressive....granted this thing is leaps and bounds a nicer vehicle then the Volt is.

Glad to see a hybrid without a CVT.
