The sedan, which has been totally revamped inside and out, goes on sale in November. The two-door companion, based extensively on the Coupe Concept the was unveiled in Detroit in January, won't reach production until spring 2007.
Powering the new G sedan is an updated version of Nissan's acclaimed VQ-series engine. The DOHC V6 keeps its present displacement of 3.5 liters, but will get a serious bump in output, to more than 300 horsepower. Transmission choices include a close-ratio six-speed manual box and a five-speed automatic with paddle shift. Infiniti will continue to offer rear- and all-wheel-drive variants.
The '07 G35 will offer such amenities as a smart key, adaptive cruise control, adaptive headlamps, rearview monitor, a touchscreen navigation system with real-time traffic information and an audiophile-quality Bose sound system with a 24-bit Burr Brown digital audio converter.
What this means to you: The "entry level" Infiniti gets more power and — believe it — even better looks.
