Infiniti EX To Be Marketed in Japan as Skyline Crossover

TOKYO — The Nissan Skyline Crossover will go on sale this summer in Japan. But if its shape looks familiar to Americans and Europeans, that's because the vehicle already is on sale in those markets, badged as the Infiniti EX.

Nissan said the Skyline Crossover will use the VQ37VHR engine, essentially the same 3.7-liter V6 that powers the Infiniti EX37 in Europe, mated to a seven-speed automatic transmission with manual shift mode. In the U.S., the Infiniti EX35 is powered by a 3.5-liter V6.

It should sell--simple as that. The market's there for it.

Good to see Infiniti lay hold of its home market--until recently Europeans have had an iron grip on the luxury segment there.
