FRANKLIN, Tennessee — The 2011 Infiniti EX35 gets some updates for the new model year, including a new seven-speed automatic transmission which replaces the previous five-speed transmission. Infiniti has also announced a $350 price hike. The base 2011 EX35 RWD starts at $35,025, including an $875 destination charge.
The seven-speed automatic transmission is said to improve fuel economy, though the EPA has yet to rate the compact crossover. Infiniti is predicting a rating of 17 mpg in city driving and 24 mpg on the highway across the board. That's the same rating the rear-drive EX35 earned for the 2010 model year, but it would be an improvement for the all-wheel-drive EX35, which was rated just 16/23 for 2010. Note that the EX's 297-horsepower 3.5-liter V6 is unchanged for 2011.
Adding AWD to the 2011 Infiniti EX35 takes you up to $36,425. The high-line EX35 Journey model costs $37,225 in rear-drive configuration and $38,625 with AWD.
Other revisions for the 2011 EX include standard 18-inch wheels and tires versus the 17s Infiniti offered previously. The EX also gets a new white color scheme for gauges and LCD instrument display, standard dual-zone automatic climate control and three new exterior colors — Arctic Blue, Midnight Garnet and Graphite Shadow.

The 3.5 VQ is smooth and refined compared to the MB V6 that's heavy, underpowered, and gets horrible MPG's. As soon as Infiniti starts adopting MB engines, I'm taking my money else where. Unless it's a hand built AMG, MB engines are worthless. I'll take Nissan's VQ engine any day of the week.
This is still the perfect crossover for women, but until they change up the look a little, I would be happy with a pre-owned FX instead.

I'm glad that they put the 7A in; but the "G35 Hatch" really needs more rear legroom. I'm surprised that the engineers didn't address this issue from the start. Hopefully the redesign will address that.

The 3.7 is a pretty course power plant. I'm glad they're sticking with the 3.5. The small increase in power isn't worth the sacrifice in smoothness. The M-B sourced V-6 can't come soon enough.

I really liked this and felt the transmission was fine, personally I think seven speeds is a bit too much for city driving but decent on the highway.
What I was really expecting was a bit more rear legroom and/or cargo space, and the 3.7 liter Infiniti engine. I can't understand why it hasn't gotten this yet.
Overall though, the EX is quite the fun "G-Hatchback".
