LOS ANGELES — Infiniti has launched the final production-ready version of the new 2013 IPL G Convertible, the second model in the Infiniti Performance Line.
The IPL G Convertible was first revealed as a concept at the 2010 Paris Auto Show, with an updated concept shown in August at Pebble Beach.
The IPL G Convertible gets a specially tuned version of Nissan's 3.7-liter V6, delivering 343 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque. The engine is mated to a seven-speed automatic transmission with downshift rev matching, quick-shift Drive Sport mode with magnesium paddle shifters and Adaptive Shift Control (ASC).
Among the car's other performance features are a high-flow exhaust system, tuned suspension, uprated steering and brakes and 19-inch seven-spoke graphite-finish alloy wheels with Bridgestone Potenza RE050A performance tires.
Standard equipment includes climate-controlled front sport seats, Bose audio system, adaptive dual-zone climate controls, navigation with voice recognition, aluminum-trimmed pedals, smart key with push-button ignition, power tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel and rear sonar system.
With a three-piece retractable roof, the new IPL G Convertible will be offered in only two exterior colors — Moonlight White and Malbec Black — and a single trim level, with no options.
Inside Line says: Look for a $50,000-plus sticker.

It looks like a ferarri, hottest car in 50K range, they should install a turbo or supercharger it will have over 500HP and blow away anything

I feel like this generation of the Infiniti G series has been around forever. Does anyone else feel like the redesign is two or three years late?

I do indeed understand what u are saying jeremy_c,and as a long time car lover/enthusiast, i do read and enjoy the HP battles that the automakers continue to bring to us. However,i myself has now owned 22 different cars, many brands....and HP doesn't matter to me,Especially in a luxury car( my personal preference).I have 2 jobs, and in a weeks time i've talked car, with more than 75 to maybe 100 people. Just real, everyday working people, with all types of cars....most,...hell,damn near all dont have a clue whats under the hood, but love their cars all the same. The guys in this forum look at things a lot different than the people who could really care less about the next persons HP,especially the women i work around, they all think their cars are fast....lol. So yes,i do understand the enthusiasts way of thinking, but thats clearly not the majority.

tippin4u - most people who buy sports cars probably don't race from the light to light or drive their cars to anywhere near their full potential. This is impossible on public roads BUT what they are paying for is having that power and knowing that their car is more powerful. Car makers and marketers know that horsepower sells because of people's ego. This is especially true of sports coupes. In the case of Infinit G37, its performance relative to other cars, IS a big part of the equation to their buyers. The M45, or G37 sedan, maybe not so much. Yes, that's right, a lot of people don't just care about what they are sitting in but also the car in the next lane. Any car company who ignore this fact will fail.

gsizzle612 got it right....buy what u like,or love. u guys really should stop all the childish comments about another mans' strong opinion about his vehicle.Infiniti is a really great automaker, and no they don't have the fastest,or greatest vehicles....but thats why you have choices.Stand up for your favorite brand, but understand....its always something faster,or more luxurious to be made. And all u light to light racers....get real.....highway speed demons...ha ha,no trophies,no checks,no rewards. THE worse debate on here! none of you will ever see the full HP of any of these cars while doing your regular/ daily commute....lol...u guys are so funny. LOVE CARS....STOP FUSSING OVER NOTHING!

i think what you fail to realize is that a real car guy buys a car because HE loves it regardless what others think about it. Its sad that the mindset of "automobile enthusiasts" is veering from love of the machine to who has the deepest pockets. what happened to the old home garage budget hot rodder of old who drove his car with pride regardless of the make, price, and horsepower. from what i've heard, genesis owners are far from remorseful of their choice and enjoy showing their tail lights to an infiniti driver every once in a while. do you think an aston martin owner suddenly hates his aston because an aston martin braded toyota iQ gets oil changes in the bay next to his car? come back down to earth.

"I am never going to take my $35K car to a delearship where I have to service my car with a $15K Accent being serviced in the next bay"
"If Hyundai, made Genesis its premium brand, and offered the same ownership experiences as other premium brands, price of Genesis branded cars would have been same as other premium cars. There is a reason why Genesis is still a Hyundai, and Infiniti is not a Nissan, or Acura is not a Honda, or Lexus is not a Toyota"
WHAT?!?!?
A) You can't even get a base 3-Series for $35K so what "status symbol" do you exactly own that's too good for a Hyundai Accent?
B) You can barely afford a Hyundai Genesis at $35K so you'd actually have to step down to a less expensive Hyundai Azera
C) You're admitting you are ignorant if you actually think that a Lexus is not a Toyota, an Infiniti is not a Nissan, and an Acura is not a Honda. All they are is a line of products made my the same company to appeal to a different market....and you obviously fell for it.
D) (Shaking head with perplexed look on face)

Its even better when you take your $55K Corvette and they stick it next to a bunch of SUVs and Pickups. The Mr. Bad-Wrench team then forgets how to properly lift up a C6 and cracks your fiberglass rocker panels.

While Im sure there is an extemely minute portion of the buying population that share this sentiment its exacly that minute....if it were a "real" issue then BMW would not service MINI, Acura had the 22k RSX, Merc will soon start selling the A-class....if car companies thought they would loose sales cause someone did'nt want their 90k 6-series serviced next to a 22k mini cooper trust me they would do it....

@s0seng02 - that's only partly true. Agree with you if the premium car you are referring to is a luxury sedan like a Bentley, Benz S class, Lexus LS etc. But if you chose a sport car/sedan, you obviously care about performance. Buyers will soon get sick of getting their butt kicked by a "less premium" car. Part of the reason why people dish out $ for these cars is the power. When G37 drivers are getting passed everday by Genesis coupe, the experience will wear them. Its like no matter how nicely built a 911 is, it just cannot be outgunned by a Hyundai or people are not going to buy it.
