2008 SEMA Show: Newcomer Infiniti Struts Its Stuff with Performance Quintet

LAS VEGAS — Infiniti's coming-out party at the 2008 SEMA Show includes a powerhouse lineup of such vehicles as the 2009 Infiniti G37 Sedan by Automotive Design Concepts and 2009 Infiniti G37 Coupe by Stillen. The upscale Nissan brand rolled out an imposing quintet of vehicles at SEMA designed to "inspire their owners," the company said.

The 336-horsepower 2009 Infiniti G37 Sedan by Automotive Design Concepts is stretched 2 inches at all four corners by Auto Explosion, without the use of a body kit. It gets beefed up with 20-inch Lexani wheels and dolled up in "Sunset Red" exterior paint. The extra horses come via a K&N filter with a new dual cool-air intake system. Magnaflow Performance added a 2.5-inch dual stainless cat-back system finished with 4-inch double-walled exhaust tips. The cabin gets such goodies as 7-inch touch monitors with integrated top-load DVD players and game controllers on the backs of the front headrests.

The 2009 Infiniti G37 Coupe by Stillen is enhanced with a custom two-tone paint job, front lip and rear deck spoilers, a roof wing and unique front grille. Performance is upgraded with Stillen's Generation 3 Ultra Long Tube Intake Kit, a stainless steel cat-back exhaust with high-flow catalytic converters and coated headers and grounding kit.

The 2009 Infiniti M by ShowOpt gets Junction Produce foglights, front and rear airdams, side rocker panels and a roof wing. The cabin gets luxury touches, including retractable VIP side and rear curtains, along with aluminum throttle and brake pedals.

The 2009 Infiniti QX by RCH Designs takes its inspiration from "flying by executive jet." The cabin gets suede trim and wood trim painted a custom deep black, matching the new exterior paint. Other exterior enhancements include a custom grille, which Infiniti said will be available to QX owners in 2009, and 26-inch wheels.

The 2008 Infiniti EX by The Westside Group gets custom exterior paint and original exterior trim finished in "ghost chrome." The door handles have been removed and are now operated by remote control. A custom moonroof finishes the package.

Inside Line says: This is no rookie showing. Infiniti asserts itself as a serious SEMA presence with this memorable lineup. — Anita Lienert, Correspondent
