    What Is It?

    What's Special About It?
Infiniti's Coupe Concept hints at the future of the brand's styling through its delicate surface transitions, aggressive stance and extensive use of detailed surface treatments. Based on the current G35 coupe, the 2+2 incorporates a full-length glass panel roof, large projector headlights, polished bare metal-look paint, compact camera outside rearview mirrors, hidden door handles and large 20-inch alloy wheels.

Shiro Nakamura, Infiniti's senior vice president of design, says the Coupe Concept shares its headlamps and taillamps with the upcoming G35 Sedan, which will debut at the New York auto show later this year. He wouldn't admit, however, how close the Coupe Concept is to an eventual production version of the two-door. We suspect it to be very close.

Inside, there's beige leather with brown accents. The center console extends from between the seats all the way into the dashboard and contains a 7-inch color information display and analog clock.

Nakamura was vague about what the future holds for the Coupe's powertrain saying only that it will be improved. More powertrain details will be revealed with the debut of the sedan, but a V8 version wouldn't shock us.

    What's Edmunds' Take?
In person, the current G35's basic proportions are fairly obvious in the Coupe Concept. We've always thought the current car is among the best-looking and best driving coupes on the road. If these styling tweaks make it to production, they will underscore a moderate but tasteful change in direction for the two-door. — Josh Jacquot
