COSTA MESA, California — The 2012 ARK Performance Hyundai Veloster, which debuts at the 2011 SEMA Show, is designed to bridge the gap between an affordable sports car and an extreme motorsports vehicle, say its creators.
A custom twin-scroll turbocharger boosts output on the 1.6-liter GDI inline-4 engine from 138 to 210 horsepower. Other performance upgrades include an ARK GRIP dual exhaust, ARK Six-Pot Big Brake Kit and ARK custom oil cooler.
The one-off Veloster gets a bright green and flat gray paint job, as well as an ARK SFX rear wing mount, OneEighty custom exterior lights and ARK CFX Designs grille.
The cabin gets JPM Coachworks custom seats, shift boot, dashboard and headliner, along with Image Dynamics Q450.4 amplifiers and ARK racing pedals. A Jason Noren Fabrications custom rally cage and Adam Perry custom audio setup round out the package.

It is probably much more expensive than the official Hyundai Turbo Veloster will be and only provide a slight extra benefit.
Probably voids the Hyundai warranties which will be replaced by either shorter ones or no warranty at all.
It is really ugly, especially with the ridiculous spoiler.
I will wait for the official Hyundai Turbo Veloster.

don't understand why you'd think the elantra feels gutless. I own one and it drives better than the RSX base model that I used to have. some people will just nitpick at anything their vocabulary allows them...

hey look, it's a good looking pos! I was given an elentra as a rental when my car was written off and it got worst fuel economy than my Rav4, the visibility was horrible, it was uncomfortable, gutless, and the steering wheel is offset, just to name a few issues. I am sure the voloster or whatever it's name is will be just as disappointing to anyone who makes the mistake of being a hyundai or kia.
