NEW DELHI — Hyundai's HND-7 Hexa Space, a new mini-MPV concept for emerging markets, features a clever, reconfigurable seating layout for up to eight passengers. Targeted at young urban families, the Hexa Space was unveiled this week at the biennial Auto Expo show.
The Hexa Space is powered by Hyundai's 1.2-liter Kappa engine, a turbocharged four-cylinder direct-injection gasoline unit that drives the front wheels through a six-speed automatic transmission.
But it is the Hexa Space interior that is the focal point of this concept.
The hexagonally shaped seats, which fit together like pieces in a puzzle, are arranged in a 3+3+2 layout, with the center seats positioned just behind the side seats for easier entry and exit. All the seats fold flat for even greater flexibility. In addition, the sliding rear doors also make it easier to get in and out of the vehicle.
Other features include a touchscreen center console, a push-button shifter and an ionizer/air purifier.
Inside Line says: This small crossover is not likely to come to the U.S. any time soon.

This is brilliant! Maybe not so much in the western world, but definitely in developing countries.

1.2l turbo 4? How much does that thing weigh? I've been to India so I know traffic moves at about 3 mph (In Mumbai anyway) but that does not seem like much pwoer for a vehicle this size.
