RUSSELSHEIM, Germany — The Hyundai i-oniq concept car has been teased by the Korean automaker ahead of the 2012 Geneva Auto Show in March.
A single image of the i-oniq, which gets a long hood and a low-slung look, was revealed late Wednesday. The i-oniq clearly hews to the design language of the Hyundai i40. Perhaps even more unusual than the concept is the fact that Hyundai is bypassing the 2012 Detroit Auto Show for the reveal and teasing it months ahead of its official debut.
The concept is described as "the next evolution of the brand's 'fluidic sculpture' design language."
"Two strong arched curves define the silhouette of the i-oniq, creating a playful contrast between the sharp character lines and soft but muscular features," said Thomas Burkle, Hyundai's European chief designer, in a statement.
The concept was designed at Hyundai's European research and design center.

--->therealmc,
Umm.... you're kidding right?
A teaser with an outline of a car was invented by Nissan/Infiniti?
That's been out for decades, obviously someone must of come out with it first, but who cares.

OK so is it me or does it seem to anyone else that Hyundai is borrowing their styling cues from Nissan/Infiniti?! I mean, now they're even borrowing their marketing imagery. Anyone?!
*Waiting to hear from the guy who is gonna tell me infiniti stole their swooshy art like profile pics in their ads from someone else....
