Hyundai said it will also pull the wraps off a face-lifted Matrix, a compact crossover that's sold in the home market as the Lavita, as well as a new range of low-emissions models that will be sold in Europe with the Eco-Dynamic label.
The company provided few details on the HED-5, other than to say it will employ "revolutionary materials and construction techniques...developed in cooperation with partners such as Recaro, Bayer and LG."
The Matrix — not to be confused with Toyota's North American compact of the same name — gets a modest update to its exterior design, plus a revised interior.
The Eco-Dynamic line boasts a number of environmentally friendly technologies, to reduce CO2 emissions and improve fuel economy.
What this means to you: Could we see a production version of the HED-5 on this side of the pond? — Paul Lienert, Correspondent
