    @hooklyn

    Are you a moron..

    0-60 of 2013 genesis coupe 3.8 is 5.  not 5.8

    even 2010-2011 models 0-60 is 5.6

where did u get that info from?

I dont know why ppl like stupid muscle cars..

    it isnt 1970-80s

anyways  genesis coupe is more like track car. or  drift

nobody brings their mustang or camaro to the track.

pros of muscle cars : fast in straight line

pros of genesis coupe : faster than mustang and camaro in straight line and corner

cons of muscle cars : lonely, bcuz nobody is interested in mustang, camaro

cons of genesis coupe : people keep bothering and talking to you bcuz its so sexy

I read so many comments about the Mustang 5.0 being the same price as the Genesis 3.8 Track that I actually went to Ford's website and built a Mustang 5.0 comparable to the aforementioned Genesis. It was $42,257. Things like HID headlights, Brembo brakes, a sunroof, voice guided nav, voice to text, heated seats, dual zone climate control (HA), and illuminated door sills all cost extra on the Mustang Premium 5.0 that are standard on the Genesis 3.8 Track. That makes a big difference to me because I will use all that stuff much more often than I will notice the difference in all out speed. That and a 10 year warranty made my decision easy. Anyway for 43 grand you can get a Boss 302 which IMO is the new Corvette (poor man's supercar), seeing as though most American's will never be able to afford a Corvette anymore. Lastly, Hyundai is one car company that is heavily invested in America an BRINGING jobs here (not sending them to Canada and Mexico) and that means something to me as well in this economic climate.

comparing genesis coupe to a camaro and mustang....lol. Even if you don't consider that the power train setups are different...the overall quality of mustang and camaro compared to genesis is just garbage.

Epoch Fail. A base mustang has more power, cost less and gets better fuel economy.

I Love the 274hp (2.0T) and 348hp (3.8) in the new 2013 Genesis ...Just NOT liking the looks! ..btw, highest hp compared to the Ford,Chevy and Dodge V6.

I own a 2010 Genesis Grand Touring 3.8 and let me say it's not the BEST in every way compared to the other three >Ford,Dodge,Chevy BUT let me say this....It's a pretty awesome car and after a few changes.. lowering springs, cold air intake, wider/larger tires and rims and a bodykit. This coupe draws crowds wherever it goes. It stands out in front of the other three hands down
with or without my changes..Why!? Because it ISN'T a Mustang or a Challenger or a Camaro, Which are Cookie Cutter cars that no one stares at anymore. I like the fact that I drive something just as good if not better than the average joe blow...Dare to be different and test drive a Genesis Coupe yourself. Compare and you will feel the same as Motor Trend does...All in All the Gen. Coupe IS A BETTER coupe. Period. Don't take it from me..read for yourself below.

    Motor Trend Quotes:
The Genesis takes top honors in the figure-eight figure-eight time, Compared to the three domestics, the Genesis offered the finest, most driver-focused sensations from behind the wheel than the others.. It was the only one that felt like a genuine sports car.
Sure, the Mustang may make the value proposition, but for the extra bit of dough, I'd rather have the Genesis. It's just more fun to drive." That, in a nutshell, was what pushed the Hyundai ahead of the new Ford.

The Genesis Coupe was  impressive, with quick turn-in, flat cornering, lots of grip, good balance. Have to rank it the best handler."The 3.8-liter is the best sounding of the V-6 bunch too".
True ,Not as speedy as the slightly lighter Mustang but still blazing for a 6 cyl. Which by the way is only .3 seconds slower between the two to 0-60..Not that impressed and doesn't really make you want to choose the Ford over the Gen. Coupe.
To me Motor Trend thinks pretty highly of the Genesis compared to the others in just about EVERY comparison...

@j2j:  The current Genesis 3.8 is substantially slower than the Camaro V6, which is again slower than the Mustang V6.  In a four-way drag between the V6 Camaro, Mustang, Challenger and Genesis, Motor Trend got 13.7 seconds in the quarter from the Mustang, 14.2 from the Genesis.  It wasn't even close.  And the Mustang will whip it on a track, too.

I'm sure the 350hp Genesis Coupe will be faster, but the only real point of comparison is price... and at $35k, the GT will boat race it.  Granted in the end it's all about flavor choice, and the Genesis Coupe is a great car that feels sportier than the Mustang (even if it really isn't at the track).  I would never begrudge someone their personal preference.  However, in the bragging rights war, the Mustang gets to beat up on the Genesis.  Props to the Hyundai though -- I really dig the styling inside and out.  I'll enjoy my view of it from my 5.0's rear view mirror!  :)

$5000 jump for the 3.8 Track model? and the car looks like shit

hooklyn says:  And this car is slower, less powerful, and now MUCH more expensive than a Mustang...  I don't get it.  Hyundai was founded on offering the cheapest ('est value') cars around.  Now this car is more expensive, less powerful, and lower quality, than everything in its class.

    Gen Coupe 2.0T - From $25,315 - 274hp (more like 250hp)
    Mustang V6 - From $22,300 - 305hp
    Camaro V6 - From $23,315 - 324hp

    - What's dumb is people comparing a turbo 4-banger to a V6 and a V6 to a V8.

The BRZ is priced similarly to the 2.0T and has barely 200HP - so are we going to compare that to the V6 Mustang as well?

And the V6 GenCoupe already beats the pony cars in 0-60 times and that lead will only extend until the pony cars come up with updated engines.
