FOUNTAIN VALLEY, California — Hyundai has teased its upcoming 2011 Elantra on its Twitter feed ahead of its debut at the 2010 Los Angeles Auto Show.
The photo is a theatrically staged "spy" shot that shows the minimally uncovered Elantra.
Meanwhile, the technology Web site CNET posted images of the completely uncovered Elantra that were taken on the street near its San Francisco offices.
The Elantra will be built at Hyundai's Montgomery, Alabama, production facility alongside the Sonata, starting later this fall, and will reach dealerships in early 2011.

Overall impressions... looks good and the 1.8 shows promise, but that's a lot of metal between that back window & rear wheel arch. The flares kind of hide it but not really.

I have see these driving around here in South Korea for at least the past month, maybe more. They look nice but the LED accents to the headlights are a bit much and take away from the styling rather than add to it as on an Audi. The lines down the side make the profile flow from front to back, almost showing you the path that air is forced around the car and down the sides. If pictures were needed before a big official release I could have gone to the dealership down the street and taken them. Let me know Edmunds, you all still rock!

The car looks better with every new shot I see. And I've seen a lot.

I just hope Hyundai replaces the rough, old, unrefined, and noisy 2.0L 4 cylinder engine with something that has the refinement of the Civic's 1.8L engine.
