Hummer H3 Sensation Unleashed for European Customers Only

ZURICH, Switzerland — The Hummer H3 Sensation, a cosmetic package with a hot sound system, was rolled out on Wednesday by General Motors Europe. It marked the latest attempt to sell the American gas-guzzler to European customers, who are being hammered by gas prices of $6-$9 a gallon in some countries.

The no-cost-added H3 Sensation package bundles black or white exterior paint, a unique body-color grille, power-sliding glass sunroof, black tubular side steps, black roof crossbars, an in-dash six-CD changer and a Monsoon seven-speaker sound system. Hummer said in a statement that the extras amount to "approximately €4,000," or the equivalent of about $6,300.

The U.K. newspaper Guardian reported on June 4 that Hummer sales in Europe are booming, "particularly in Russia, where the number of Hummers sold has leapt 51 percent in a year."

What this means to you: You won't be able to get your hands on the H3 Sensation, since it's only available across the pond. — Anita Lienert, Correspondent
