- Instead of tires, the H2 Bomber has 15.75-by-59-inch rubber tracks.
- Motivation comes from the 398-hp version of GM's 6.2-liter V8.
- Wisely, a rearview camera is standard on the Bomber.
MUNICH, Germany — Just in time for the dismantling of the Hummer brand, Geiger Cars has released a new tuning package for the Hummer H2. This time the German tuner focused on creating an off-road behemoth that's equipped with two pairs of Mattracks 88M1-A1 rubber tracks.
The rubber tracks on the H2 Bomber are quite the upgrade compared to the standard 20-by-8.5-inch rims wrapped in 305/60 tires. Each rubber track is 15.75 inches wide and 59 inches long, allowing for what Geiger Cars calls "unrivaled traction on virtually any type of terrain whether the vehicle is needed for agriculture, emergency services or expedition." Geiger isn't the only one to come up with the idea of putting rubber tracks on a car lately, either.
The souped-up H2 features a 6.2-liter V8 that makes 398 horsepower and 423 pound-feet of torque. It sends power to the tracks via a six-speed automatic transmission. An LPG Autogas system with a 41-gallon fuel tank can be installed if the H2 Bomber's owner chooses.
Geiger's only exterior changes include a matte silver paint job and a roof box with Hella lights. The inside, on the other hand, gets a bunch of upgrades including a sunroof, a Kenwood DVD-based navigation system and a back-up camera with a monitor in the rearview mirror.
Inside Line says: The Hummer H2 Tank might be a more appropriate name for this off-road beast. — Mike Lysaght, Correspondent

On another note: Hummer, your life cycle has ended... Let's move on...

Why does it have a big ol' honkin' spare tire hanging off the tailgate? It's not like the tracks can go flat. And if you broke a track, would putting a regular wheel on one corner give anything like the same mobility as having all four tracks on? Would that even work? Enquiring minds want to know!
