MUNICH, Germany — Geiger Cars has customized a Hummer H2 SUT for a German actor named Jumbo by jacking up the ride height, throwing on some big tires and slapping an "XXL" decal on the side.
The lifted Hummer, built for Jumbo Schreiner, rides on a 10-inch lift kit and chromed aluminum 20-inch wheels wrapped in Toyo rubber. The powertrain is the typical 6.2-liter V8 mated to a six-speed automatic, but Geiger has offered one concession to the environment. Jumbo's H2 SUT packs a 200-liter tank in the bed to carry clean-burning liquefied petroleum gas.
Geiger has also upgraded the interior with a Kenwood navigation and DVD system. The company says that the Hummer is worth $129,000.
Inside Line says: Jumbo appears to be vastly more qualified to drive an H2 than many American suburbanites. — Eric Tingwall, Correspondent
