    What is it?
    Honda Puyo Concept

    What's special about it?
Honda named the Puyo concept after the way it feels. No, not the way it feels from the driver seat, but the way it feels when you touch it. See, instead of cold hard steel, the body of this concept is made of soft, lovable silicone.

Combined with its curvy shape, the Puyo has all the personality of an adorable pet, so Honda designers tell us. That makes the Puyo the 783rd Japanese concept vehicle to be compared to a small animal. Unlike your favorite puppy, however, the Puyo can also change color to reflect its mood. It's supposed to harmonize the relationship between the car and its passengers, but we're not quite sure how.

If that weren't precious enough, Honda has developed the vehicle's cockpit to provide a "silky feel." Among its features are a joystick control, luminous fluid meter displays and other controls that "rise up" when the vehicle is started. And it all runs on fuel-cell power so as not to jeopardize all that harmony with CO2-filled exhaust.

    What's Edmunds' take?
The Puyo may be soothing to the touch, but its effect on the eyes is far less enjoyable. — Ed Hellwig, Senior Editor
