TOKYO — Honda has released additional images of its HSV-010 GT. In a previous life, the design was to have been the successor to the Acura NSX.
According to official specs released with the images, the HSV-010 will feature a normally aspirated DOHC 3.4-liter V8 delivering "500 or more" horsepower and at least 289 pound-feet of torque. The Ricardo sequential gearbox will have paddle shifters on the steering column.
The chassis employs double wishbones, a torsion-bar stabilizer and hydraulic ventilated disc brakes, as well as rack-and-pinion electric power steering. The car rides on 330/40R18 tires in front and — oddly — 330/45R17s in the rear.
The HSV-010 measures 184 inches long, on a wheelbase of 106.3 inches. Curb weight is a mere 2,425 pounds.
Honda will campaign the car in the GT500 class of Japan's 2010 Super GT Series, with the first race slated for Suzuka in late March.

Whoa!!! If the lines that are showing up in this car are any indication, the next NSX would have been GORGEOUS to look at as well as a BLAST to drive. Real shame...

My goodness. The muffler looks like a jet engine. Honda please build this right now. Stop production of the CrossTour, ZDX, Insight and CR-Z. Just dump all of that money into the NSX.
