TOKYO — The Honda Insight Sports Modulo Concept, complete with tail fins, custom LED taillights and an asymmetrical front grille, bowed on Friday at the 2010 Tokyo Auto Salon. The aftermarket show is Japan's version of the annual SEMA event in the U.S.
Honda Access, the automaker's aftermarket parts and accessories arm, tweaked the Insight, which is Honda's answer to the Toyota Prius. The theme of the concept is "Exciting Eco," Honda Access said in a statement.
Few details were released about the concept, but the appearance package includes an unusual body kit that gives the Insight an edgier look. "With its advanced styling featuring chiseled lines, the Modulo concept vehicles demonstrate the new value that Sports Modulo customization has to offer a next-generation hybrid," said Honda Access.
No word on whether any part of the concept will be offered for purchase in Japan or the U.S.

when consumers stop being suckered into overpaying for a few stripes, oversize wheels, and a badge that says "Sport", "SS", "GT", etc. with no real sporting qualifications, we will be rid of these poseurs. This car is better suited for a movie prop than a production model. Oops, someone else already saifd that. Too bad it doesn't have wheel skirts.
