Honda Small Hybrid Sports Concept

GENEVA — Honda introduced a concept car with looks far more exciting than its name: the Small Hybrid Sports Concept. The prototype continues Honda's push to be identified as a leader in environmental friendliness with a gasoline-electric four-cylinder engine.

Unlike the Advanced Sports Car concept earlier this year, which was designed in California, the Small Hybrid Sports Concept was created at Honda's design studio in Germany. It is rather compact, a mere 157.5 inches long and 50.0 inches tall. As for the styling, it is not in new-Civic territory for looks, but one could call it not bad for a hybrid. Its shape is not broken up by exterior mirrors; rear-facing digital cameras were used instead.

Honda says the prototype is based around a "small-car platform." The gasoline-electric four-cylinder engine propels the front wheels only.

What this means to you: Maybe we can look forward to the Definitive Hybrid Sports Concept at the Tokyo Motor Show.
