Honda P-NUT Bound for 2009 Los Angeles Auto Show

TORRANCE, California — The Honda Personal-Neo Urban Transport concept, also dubbed the P-NUT, will make its world debut next month at the 2009 Los Angeles Auto Show. The concept is a creation of the Advanced Design Studio of Honda R&D Americas, which is credited with designing models for North American tastes, including the Honda Element, Pilot and Ridgeline.
Chuck Schifsky, American Honda Motor spokesman, did not respond to questions from Inside Line on Thursday asking if the P-NUT is bound for production and if its name was for real. He basically stuck with the car's name, rank and serial number in an e-mailed response, saying only that P-NUT stands for Personal-Neo Urban Transport.
In a statement, Honda said this "futuristic design study demonstrates potential of ultra-compact, city-focused vehicle." It called it an "aggressively designed coupe."
No images or specifications were made available for the P-NUT.
Last year, Honda's FC Sport Concept, another futuristic vehicle, was revealed at the 2008 Los Angeles Auto Show.
