TORRANCE, California — Honda will make sure music-festival goers see Big Foot over the Memorial Day holiday weekend this year. The automaker will provide a solar-powered Big Foot Stage to the Sasquatch! Music Festival in Washington State, along with a Honda Hybrid Zone to show off the company's hybrid lineup.
The CR-Z sport hybrid coupe and Insight and Civic hybrids will be on display, looking to get the attention of those attending the three-day music festival in the town of George, near the Columbia River Gorge in central Washington.
Honda is an "official eco-partner" for the festival and will also offer a bicycle-powered charging center for the electronic gadgetry brought by the 70,000 expected attendees.
The Sasquatch! Music Festival will present 90 bands with names including Pavement, The Lonely Forest, Z-Trip, Morning Teleportation and Public Enemy. The festival is suggesting that people carpool to the event to save energy and is offering prizes, with the help of sponsor Esurance, to those who do. The festival has also been certified "carbon neutral" by energy consulting firm Carbon Harmony and will be 100 percent wind-powered, organizers say.
