    What is it?
    Honda DualNote

    What's special about it?
The DualNote is a hybrid vehicle. No big deal, right? Honda has had the Insight on sale for a coupe of years now. Ah, but this concept vehicle is a bit different. It's a Honda hybrid, but it's also sporty. This mid-engine all-wheel-drive car is powered by a 3.5-liter i-VTEC V6. The hybrid system uses Honda's Integrated Motor Assist, the type used on the Insight. The V6 drives the rear wheels, and there are two additional electric motors used to power the front wheels. Honda says this package puts out 400 horsepower, while still achieving very good fuel economy. The car comes with ATTS, the torque transfer system found on the Honda Prelude, as well as stability control, for excellent handling characteristics.

    Why should you care?
While it is unlikely that the DualNote will see production, you can bet that the V6 IMA system will find its way into a Honda product in the near future. Hybrid Honda Accord, anyone? — Brent Romans
