Honda Civic Type R Euro Is Bound for Japan Market

    1 Rating
SWINDON, England — In what may seem to be a quirky arrangement, Honda said it will begin shipping the U.K.-built Honda Civic Type R Euro to Japan in 2010 in "limited numbers."

Honda's Swindon factory is the only place that builds the Civic Type R three-door, which explains why the automaker plans to import the car to its home market.

The Type R Euro churns out 198 horsepower and has a top speed of 146 mph. It sprints from zero to 60 mph in less than 6.6 seconds.

Honda notes that Japan is the third country outside of Europe to import the car, following Australia and South Africa.
