DETROIT — Honda said it will unveil the 2013 Accord Coupe Concept at the upcoming 2012 Detroit Auto Show. The concept, according to Honda, will reveal "the styling direction of the next-generation Honda Accord Coupe," which goes into production next fall at Marysville, Ohio.
Honda said the concept "will convey the dynamic and aggressive profile" of the ninth-generation Accord.
The 2013 Accord sedan is expected to debut a new plug-in hybrid system from Honda.
The Marysville plant in 2012 marks its 30th anniversary as the first Japanese car plant in the U.S.
Inside Line says: Honda intends to remain in the forefront of green technology, especially with mainstream models such as the Accord.

Someone else, on another site, posted this. I'm reposting because I agree.
"To be competitive [the Accord] should have a 6 speed automatic with paddle shifters (a dual clutch 7 or 8 speed auto would be even better), rear A/C vents, HID lights, twin scroll turbos/hybrid, a proximity key, a push button start stop, heated and cooled seats, bluetooth, back up cameras, turn signal indicators in the mirrors, LED lights, laser cruise control, and systems prep the car before a crash (I wish Honda would stop their policy of not offering premium features in the HOnda's because of a fear of cutting into sales of the Acuras)."
Such is the nature of the hotly contested midsize sedan segment, that such a technological list can be a reasonable wish list for the (shrinking) middle class."
It's never gonna happen. What do you think an Accord is, a Ferrari or BMW? Dual Clutch 7 speed or 8 speed Auto? Are you kidding? As you mentioned the Accord competes in the hotly contested mid-size sedan segment meant to cater to a wide variety of people, most of whom might fantasize about such things but will never ever buy it. The most popular engine in the Accord lineup is the 4 cylinder. I'm thinking you BELIEVE it's the 6 cylinder.

I miss my 2005 Accord like crazy, it was nothing fancy, an LX sedan....but the thing ran well...drove great for a family sedan and was bullet proof ( 120,000 trouble free miles). I traded it for something all an wheel drive car, b/c even with good snow tires it wasn't always good in the snow, i still regret having to trade it in, that was/is the appeal of most Hondas, no fuss, trouble free driving/operating with a little sporting soul to them. I hope the Accord makes a comeback!

@ blkamg:
"Time for a refresh since Kia keeps copying their current line ups."
The difference is Kia didn't smoke crack and look through a kaleidoscope like Honda did when they designed most of their cars, including Acura. The smoke is finally clearing.....hopefully. If you look like a clown driving a Honda, rest assured, at least it's still reliable. Or is that schtick played out already?

If Honda and Toyota will design their car as good as Hyundai or Kia or maybe Ford, they will surely have more sales. Weather we like it or not, many buyers look for style. Now that quality is getting better with their competitions, they better start making good looking cars.

From hondanews, their official PR website, "The Accord Coupe Concept will convey the dynamic and aggressive profile of the ninth-generation 2013 Honda Accord set to go on sale in the fall of 2012."
Look, I are an automotive journalist, too.
