2008 Tokyo Auto Salon: Honda To Roll Out Touring Modulo Inspire

TOKYO — Honda lifted the sheets on yet another custom concept it will display at the 2008 Tokyo Auto Salon, showing off the Honda Touring Modulo Inspire on Wednesday.

Details are still somewhat sketchy on the second of the two Modulo concepts Honda will display at Japan's version of our SEMA show, which starts on Friday. Last week, the Japanese automaker unveiled the Honda Sports Modulo Type-R, a more aerodynamic version of the Civic Type-R. Honda describes the Touring Modulo Inspire, which is based on the new Inspire, as "a luxury vehicle that combines a sporty character with a premium feel."

It appears that the Modulo customizers had a lot of fun in the cabin of the concept, which is done up in orange-and-black seats piped in silver.

Honda says the theme for its display will be "Realizing Dreams Together" and will focus on "road-going models."

What this means to you: Think of it as a tarted-up version of the Honda Accord. — Anita Lienert, Correspondent
