2008 Geneva Auto Show Preview: Honda Accord

TOKYO — Honda Motor Company has released a handful of teaser images of the redesigned Accord sedan and Accord Tourer wagon that will be unveiled in early March at the 2008 Geneva Auto Show. The new Accord goes on sale in Europe in early summer.

Honda previewed the look of the new wagon last fall at Frankfurt, with the Accord Tourer Concept.

A companion model to the new Accord sedan, rebadged as the 2009 Acura TSX, is expected to debut next month for the U.S. market at the 2008 Chicago Auto Show. Both models will use Honda's new turbocharged 2.2-liter i-DTEC "clean diesel" engine.

Honda traditionally has sold a smaller Accord with different styling in Europe than the model of the same name that it builds and sells in North America.

What this means to you: The European model often looks better than its American counterpart. — Paul Lienert, Correspondent
