    What is it?
    Honda HFP Accord Coupe

    What's special about it?
Truth be told, most of the vehicles on display at SEMA are largely automotive eye candy, seductively waggled before our drool-covered chins by the aftermarket, even though they can't be duplicated by the average enthusiast and his average budget.

Not so the Honda Factory Performance (HFP) Accord Coupe. Not only is everything you see on the fiery red coupe available through your local Honda store, it has also been specifically engineered by Honda's in-house HFP products group for full compatibility and ease of installation. And any HFP hardware installed on your new Honda at the time of purchase will carry the same three-year/36,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty as the rest of the vehicle.

This 2008 Accord Coupe with dealer-installed Honda Factory Performance components showcases a wide range of performance and styling upgrades. A full aerodynamic body kit includes a front spoiler, side sill skirts and rear bumper under-panel for a lower, meaner-looking stance.

Speaking of a lower stance (and enhanced handling), the Sports Suspension package reduces ride height by about an inch. The 19-inch alloy wheels are designed to wear high-performance 245/40R19 tires. These clear-coated wheels are manufactured by Honda's suppliers, and the width and offset are specifically tailored to fit the new Accord.

All of the Accord Coupe HFP accessories, except for the suspension, are available now and can be purchased individually. The suspension will go on sale in the spring of 2008.

    What's Edmunds' take?
The HFP Accord Coupe illustrates Honda's commitment to offer OEM-quality accessories to its owners, especially those looking for hassle-free dealer installation and/or freedom from the worry that aftermarket parts may void their new car warranty. Expect to pay a premium purchase price, though. — Patrick Paternie, Contributor
